Borderlands 2: A Bazillion Of Guns!

Andrew Lee Feb 29, 2012 0

Slated for a release on September 18 in the United States for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 owners, Borderlands 2 leads on with the promise of the many key elements that made the first Borderlands successful and the fact according to their trailer that it is that much more “Bad Ass” than the last.  Carrying on from the first game, Borderlands 2 takes place about five years after the events of the first Borderlands.  Since then, a man by the name of Handsome Jack, shown in the trailer below, has taken credit for the efforts of the previous Vault Hunters and has effectively taken over the Hyperion Corporation.  From there, in order to clean up the planet Pandora of crime, he has decided to clear out its existing colonists and industrialize it.  As the trailer suggests, four brand new characters are added to the equation as the previous four from the prequel seems like they will be reduced to NPC status so those who had their hearts set on playing their favorite characters from before are going to be somewhat disappointed.  However, with the addition of new unique characters, it seems like some people may have immediate favorites, especially a certain character that resembles a cyber-ninja with optic camouflage and a sword.

With all the jesting aside, Borderlands 2 seems like a very exciting game to pick up, so long as a few buddies of mine commit to the same cause.  But even so, Christoph Hartmann, the president of 2k is quoted saying:

“The addictive gameplay and shooting and looting mayhem of the first Borderlands is back and better than ever in Borderlands 2, taking the franchise to an entirely new level.”

“With more guns, more enemies, more missions, an engaging story and all-new characters, Borderlands 2 promises to bring a new era to gaming this fall.”

Now, I can’t say that that I would believe every word without some sort of proof, but if the game is anything like what the trailer suggests and other various tweaks to the game such as A.I. aggressiveness and smarts, then I’m sold.  But then again, who can resist the 96.5% more Wub-Wub and Gazillion Guns?
