Crackle is Sony’s free online ad-supported video site, similar to Hulu. Sony is expanding the content that is available on the site to different Sony devices. The devices are the Roku Player, the PS3, internet connected Blu-Ray players and internet connected Bravia televisions. As far as the PS3 goes, Crackle works on the internet browser, which means it probably will not run very well.
Before this recent update, Crackle compatibility on these devices was non-existent, but this opens up the entire catalog for all to view.
Before you get to excited, he available content will not be high definition. The content will stream at 480P and commercials will play, just like with Hulu.
Good news, it’s free.
Now the content is the key to people using the service so lets see what’s featured on Crackle right now:
Ghost Rider, Big Daddy, The Da Vinci Code, La Femme Nikita and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (didn’t even know they made this one). I’m sure there’s something in that group of movies that you like.
