Remember when Google bought Motorola Mobility, people thought Google might integrate Google TV into future cable set top boxes? Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen any time soon. Based off what we can tell from Reuters sources, Google is looking to sell off that part of the Motorola business. If the sale does go through, Google could get as much as $2 billion. Remember, Motorola announced they would be focusing on phones, minimizing workforce and even moved the HQ. What’s not clear is if Google does sell of the cable box sector, are there any patents that get sold as well? Maybe we’ll find out soon.
