What’s a Japanese company to do when you are losing money making LCDs for your products such as tablets and phones? Well combine forces of course! It seems Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi are putting their LCD small panel business together along with a large investment from The Innovation Network Corp of Japan, which the Japanese government has a 90% ownership. The Innovation Network Corp of Japan will own 70% of the new company, creatively called “Japan Display” and Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi will have 10% each.
