T-Mobile CEO Philipp Humm has resigned, according to a report from All Things D. While no reports have surfaced over his reason of his resignation, Humm is set to rejoin his family back in Europe and plans to make a career changes outside of T-Mobile’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom. T-Mobile’s COO Jim Alling will become the interim CEO while the company moves forward looking for Humm’s replacement.
“Philipp Humm has given the company some important initiatives over the past years: Under his leadership the cost situation at T-Mobile USA has vastly improved and he led the company during a difficult phase regarding the planned merger with AT&T,” said Rene Obermann, a spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom.
Humm was at that part of the timeline when AT&T tried to acquire T-Mobile but faltered.
