How many times have you been on a flight and have the urge to call someone? At 35,000 feet in the air, it’s impossible to use your cell phone…Until now. Thanks to AeroMobile, a company that has created a mobile repeater for airplanes, up to 6 passengers can simultaneously make phone calls while flying. Being that this is a brand new and innovative service, it is limited to customers on O2 and Vodafone services in Europe and only T-Mobile customers here in the US. Currently set to launch on Virgin Atlantic flights with the new Airbus A330, travelers going across the pond will be able to check this out. Alas, using the service is not free (at least your in-flight sandwich is); you will be billed roaming rates depending on your carrier. Still, having the ability and access to make a call via your cell phone, we’re finally moving away from those ugly in-flight phones with the weird credit card swipe; now those are expensive.
