You think Steve Jobs would allow this? Probably not. Some of the die hard Apple fans I talked to were pretty upset about this news. But Cricket Wireless is growing in numbers and to be able to sell the iPhone is going to make them pre-paid giants. Right now, Cricket’s claim to fame are some nice higher end Android devices and pretty affordable wireless plans with no contract. Although the cost of the phones are huge, it works out to be cheaper in the end. $55/month will get you unlimited talk, text and web. Who could ask for more. Well, we could. The web is set to throttle at 2.3GB so expect a huge slow down in data after that. Other than that, your monthly bill won’t surprise you every time you do that; just stick to WiFi when possible. As for the iPhone prices themselves, $499.99 for a 16GB iPhone 4s and $399.99 for an 8GB iPhone 4.
