Reuters reports Chinese families observing the Qingming festival in Malaysia are finding a shortage of replica iPad 2s to offer to their ancestors. Relatives would burn luxury items during this festival, usually replicas like fake money, cars, and these paper iPads. Some retailers can only offer the first iPad, and even has paper replicas of other electronics like iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Either first or second generation replica iPads go for $1 for an 888 gb capacity, which is “an auspicious number in Chinese culture.”
