It’s the dawn of a new operating system, Microsoft Windows 8, and as usual, we must check for compatibility with our connected hardware. Here is Focusrite’s Window’s 8 compatibility as of launch and we’ll try to keep this updated as new drivers are released.
The official list from Focusrite here on this page. The Scarlett 2i2, Scarlett 2i4, iTrack Solo, the Forte and the Saffire 6 USB are all working in Windows 8 with the most recent drivers. This leaves a large amount of products not compatible for now, the list being the VRM Box, the Scarlett 8i6, Scarlett 18i6, Liquid Saffire 56, the Saffire Pro 14, Pro 24 Pro 24DSP and the Pro 40.
The company is said to be hard at work on extending compatibility to the rest of the devices and they’ll announce when the drivers are ready. Until then, if you are using any of the incompatible interfaces, then you should hold up on your Windows 8 upgrade.
