At Google’s “Next Dimension” event, they unveiled some new mapping tools and layers to the world. As expected, they’re adding new 3D imagery not only to the web version but also to Android and iOS. Also, you’ll be able to access offline maps in over 100 countries worldwide; it’s no longer in beta. There’s even a “Tour Guide” feature for users of Google Earth that’ll give you an amazing flyby 3D view of cities and landmarks.
