Based on a screenshot that was seen around the world (see what I did there?), it looks like Jelly Bean is in fact going to be coined as Android 4.1. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ variant seems to be the first phone to support it. The screenshot is from the Google Play Store; someone from Droid-Life was in the process of buying an unlocked Galaxy Nexus and to their surprise saw the tag line. While we don’t know what Jelly Bean will add to Android, we can deduce its minimum requirements:
- At least Android 4.0
- Multi-core processor
True, that’s really not a lot to go on, but we’ll find out more at Google i/o next week.
