Google has announced some improvements and additions to the Google Play Store. First of all, there are now 4 million books to choose from. This means they have more E-books than any other provider (as per Google). Regarding their video partners, Google has signed up with Sony, Disney, Paramount, Universal and more; more partners, more videos! Part of the new agreements also state that users can buy certain movies whereas before they could only rent them. Also, Google is going up against Apple’s Newstand with some new magazine partners including Esquire, Wired and Family Circle. Each user has a 14 day trial period with each periodical to make sure you’re happy with the service.

One of the coolest updates is now you can perform application updates and uninstalls from the Google Play Store from your web browser. I can’t tell you how helpful this is. Plus, Google has introduced ‘smart app updates.’ This means that your phone will download JUST the new update to the app, not the whole app like before.
