Ever lost your keys? Honestly, I did that no less than 3 hours ago. I found them but I wasted 10 minutes looking. I needed Hone. Hone is a new Kickstarter project created by A Project Design in LA, California. There are 2 pieces to this product. One, there’s a free app in the iOS app store specifically for the iPhone 4s and the iPad 3rd gen. Two, the actual Hone device itself, a keyring. The keyring runs off a CR2032 battery that lasts around 6 months and connects to your device via Bluetooth. Using Bluetooth 4.0 technology, your iPhone or iPad can send a signal to the Hone up to 150 feet away. The Hone will then light up and vibrate.

Yes, there are already solutions like this in existence, however, there’s no mobile phone version. They require a separate remote control or home base system. What happens if you lose the remote? What if you’re not at home? As long as you’re with you’re phone, you’ll find your keys. Check out the video they posted; you’ll probably recognize a familiar face from TV and movies like Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist… Can’t wait to see who it is? It’s the lovely Kat Dennings.

The Kickstarter project has a little less than 30 days left and a goal of $46,000; they’re currently at $31,403 and are in need for more backers. If you pledge at least $49, you’ll get a Hone. Well worth the money.
