IK Multimedia has released a free version of DJ Rig, their iOS DJ software. The paid version of DJ Rig was also updated and both are available now. These updates were released in preparation for their iRig Mix DJ mixer announced previously.
Both the paid and the free versions of DJ Rig free will give you vital tools needed to DJ. These include beats-per-minute- adjustments and the ability to crossfade. The both also feature the ability to scratch your songs and what is performed can be recorded and exported for jamming elsewhere. The paid version will feature the ability to loop parts of songs. It also comes with sound banks of samples to use and mix effects for transitioning song to song.
For those who want more, the is a Pro bundle pack that will give the user multiple cue points, more effects, more sound banks and different skins for the deck. The iRig Mix mixer is expected to ship in May and it is a hardware companion to the DJ Rig software giving real hands on feel to the mixing while providing audio I/O. It’s expected to sell for $100.
