Mackie has announced that their live mixer with iPad integration, DL1608, is now shipping worldwide. Along with the expansion of availability, the company has also announced some new upgrades to the iPad app that adds some of the much requested features users wanted.
The Mackie Master Fader app adds the ability to store and recall presets within the plugins. This means users can start making custom settings for their situations and recall them anytime. Mackie has also added the ability to store snapshots of the mixer’s settings (fader, panning, AUX settings). These features can greatly speed up setup times. The Master Fader app also now has the ability for more iPads to be linked to the system, up to 10, and an offline mode that will allow users to familiarize themselves with the app without having to power up the mixer and more.
Product Manager Ben Olswang, explained how this feature update will not be their last. He stated, “This Master Fader update adds significant features, making the DL1608 a complete live sound solution, but we’re far from done. We have been gathering end-user feedback and will be continuously developing additional features and functionality. That’s the beauty of the DL1608. The update possibilities are endless.”
The DL1608, announced at NAMM 2012, is a digital mixer with 16 channels of input and an iPad integration that allows remote control of the mixer plus more. It retails for $1250 but the average street price is about $1000. The iPad is not included with the mixer.
