Microsoft confirmed today that Halo 4 will be released on November 6th “worldwide”. This game according to a blog by Nielsen is considered to be one of gamers’ most anticipated titles for 2012, which had been revealed at Microsoft’s briefing at the 2011 E3 Expo.
Halo 4 will also mark the return of the “Master Chief” or John 117 according to the lore of the series who was last seen in cryo-stasis on the remaining half of the UNSC frigate Forward Unto Dawn at the end of Halo 3. According to Microsoft, this will mark “a new beginning” for the franchise as it is set three years after the events of Halo 3. The first title, Halo: Combat Evolved first came out along side the original Xbox in November 2001. A redux version was released on the 10th anniversary in November 2011. Since then, 40 million Halo franchised games have been sold according to Microsoft.
