Nyko has been a provider of quality third-party gaming accessories for a while, and with their announcement of new accessories for this year at E3 they are looking to enhance our experience with our favorite gaming platforms. The new products shown to us was a line of batteries as well as a new ShockNRock for the Nintendo 3DS, a PS3 controller charger, and a wide angle attachment to the Kinect that allows it to be used in a smaller space.
Decrease the space needed to play your favorite Kinect games with Nyko’s Zoom for Kinect. The Zoom reduces the play range required to enjoy Kinect software by up to 40%, allowing you to play closer to your TV. Zoom’s wide angle lens also enables two people to play in an area normally only suitable for a single player making it ideal for those in smaller apartments or dorm rooms. Specially designed optical lenses fit over the Kinect sensor and clip into place making set up a breeze with nothing to plug in. No additional software or calibration is required. The design of the Zoom blends seamlessly with the look and feel of the Kinect. The Zoom opens up a whole new world of Kinect play to those who previously lacked the space required to fully enjoy it.
For the Nintendo 3DS, Nyko offers multiple solutions at different price points to extend your gaming time. The Gameboost (MSRP $13) adds about 1-2 hours and just clips on to the 3DS.
The Powergrip (MSRP $30) extends your playing time 3X and has grooves to improve your grip on the system. Then as a bit of nostalgia, Nyko is bringing back the ShockNRock (MSRP $40) which adds the same amount of time to the Powergrip and adds four speakers and rumble vibration feedback. It also is a protective case for the 3DS.
The Playstation 3 Chargebase 3 is a controller charger where you attach a dongle to the usb ports of the Dualshock3 or the Six-axis controllers and it stays on the charger using magnets. The base/footprint is a lot smaller so it does not take up as much space on your desk or cabinet.
