If you’re like me, texting is a thing of the past. Most of the people I talk to have smartphones so they all have a chat app like iMessage, Google Talk and some even use Facebook chat. One of the apps that I use is PingMe. I’ve spoken about them before and how it’s better than most chat programs. Tonight, they updated their apps for iOS and Android. For iOS, version 1.4 brings:
- Ability to send voice-notes to friends and family instantly
- Personalize the thumbnail image in group messages
- Various bug fixes
For Android, version 1.3 brings:
- Improved battery efficiency by utilizing Android native push notifications
- Ability to send voice-notes to friends and family instantly
- Personalize the thumbnail image in group messages
- Fun new selection of chat bubbles and wallpapers
I’m still hoping to see an update that allows live chat with front-facing cameras. Once that’s done, that’ll be the end of Google Talk for me.
