Rockstar’s Games L.A. Noire Is Ready To Bring Gaming And Cinema Together

Sean W. Apr 19, 2011 2

Rockstar Games has made many extremely controversial and critically acclaimed games. Their flagship property Grand Theft Auto has generated millions in sales across multiple platforms, started another controversy regarding sex in games over “hot coffee” and, for the most part, created an entire genre of video games called “open world”.

They’ve recently had major success with the also critically acclaimed western based open world game Red Dead Redemption and are now taking the open world game to a new time and place.

The game is named L.A. Noire, and it is set to release on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 on May 17th, 2011. The game has, even before release, already received praise from the Tribeca Film Festival as well as countless gaming outlets.

L.A. Noire takes place in Los Angeles in 1947 and follows the story of Cole Phelps, and LAPD detective who fights corruption, murder and the drug trade.  The game uses unique face animation that gives the characters lifelike  movement that the player must read to interrogate suspects.   Reading this will change if a case will get solved or if a murderer will walk away free.  The game puts the player into the role of an officer and it’s up to the player to find clues, remember important information to the case and solve the case.  But the videos say everything that needs to be said.  Here are some of the ones that have been released and there will be another one released this Thursday.
