After much speculation, leaked photos and technical sheets, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S II to the United States. As you may know, Verizon is not a part of this launch but they still have another trick up their sleeve. But as we expected, the American versions of this phone will be Sprint’s Epic 4G Touch (WiMax) and T-Mobile’s and AT&T’s Galaxy S II (HSPA+). The phones will sport a 4.52″ Super AMOLED Plus screen (wow), 16GB of memory, 2MP front-facing camera, an 8MP camera with 1080p HD recording, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and Gingerbread 2.3. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI but the hardware specs on these devices are simply awesome. Also, as you can see from the pictures, the phones will have a different look/feel from one another. No announcement on the pricing was made but hopefully it’ll be around the $250 mark.
