National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced Mars24 – an app that determines the current time in Mars and is now downloadable for Mac, Windows, Linux, OS/2 and other operating systems.
Mars24 is a Java application which features a Mars sunclock, a graphical representation of the planet Mars showing its current sun- and nightsides. It displays the current time in the red planet in a 24-hour format.
It also presents a plot of the relative orbital positions of Mars and Earth and a diagram of the solar angle and path for a given location on Mars.
The Launch of Mars24 came days after the landing of MSL Curiosity on the Mars. The nuclear-powered rover is set to investigate the planet’s climate and geology in an attempt to find out if the red planet can support life.
