There were a ton of booths at GDC but one that caught my eye right away was a French company called TriOviz. To put it simply, TriOviz has designed an SDK that developers can add into their game, post-production, that changes 2D games into 3D games. To prove this technology, they’ve created glasses called Inficolor 3D glasses. The glasses work on almost any 2D HDTV and works with popular games for PS3, XBox 360 and the PC. What games you ask? Green Lantern, Batman: Arkham City, Assassins Creed: Revalations and Thor to name a few. Because this is an SDK to use for any game, any developer can add it to their game. The SDK only requires 2MB of video memory and runs in less than 2MS of GPU! I’m no developer but this seems super simple to implement.
The glasses cost only $29.99 and can be bought directly from their website.
